Liverpool Join Arsenal & Tottenham In Plotting Swoop To Sign £52m-Rated Star

The summer transfer window is open and managers are working hard on their transfer targets so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Liverpool are linked with Gelson Martins…

Liverpool are eyeing a move to sign Arsenal and Tottenham target Gelson Martins after the attacker cancelled his contract with Sporting Lisbon, according to the Telegraph via the Mirror.
Martins has been on Sporting’s books his entire career having progressed through their youth system and has been one of the most exciting young attackers in Portuguese football in recent years. The 23-year-old starred for Sporting last season after providing 13 goals and 13 assists to earn a place in the Portugal World Cup squad.
However, Martins is set to leave the Estadio Jose Alvalade following a turbulent campaign as the attacker is one of several players who have decided to cancel their contracts using ‘just cause’ after they were attacked by furious fans at the clubs training ground last month after missing out on the Champions League.
Goalkeeper Rui Patricio has already joined Wolves and Martins has joined William Carvalho, Bruno Fernandes, Ruben Ribeiro, Bas Dost and Daniel Podence in terminating their contracts so they are all looking for new clubs this summer.
The situation has alerted a number of teams here in the Premier League with the Mirror citing a report from the Telegraph that claims Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool have all expressed their interest in signing Martins – who had a £52m release clause in his contract before it was ripped up.
Arsenal are looking to rebuild under new boss Unai Emery while Tottenham are hoping to further strengthen their squad as Mauricio Pochettino looks to build a side capable of challenging for the title and Martins is on their radars.

However, it looks like Liverpool are ready to steal a march on their rivals as the newspaper says Jurgen Klopp is plotting a move for Martins as he looks to add depth to his attacking options ahead of next season.
