Liverpool forward Dominic Solanke wants to move on loan to Rangers to link up with Steven Gerrard, according to the Scottish Sun.
It is believed that Jurgen Klopp would support the move to give the Reds striker some game time which he may not be able to get at Anfield, or certainly not be guaranteed to get the amount of it he could crave at least.
Solanke managed to make 27 appearances for Liverpool in total in his first season at the club, but he was only a starter on six occasions, and it is that which might heighten his desire to head away and get more regular action as he looks to continue his progression.
Gerrard is looking for a potent striker who offers something dynamic to lead his attack in the next campaign as he looks to make Rangers a force once again, and the FIFA Under-20 World Cup winner is a man he has earmarked for that role.
In an ideal world Gerrard would like Solanke in place as early as possible with Rangers beginning their season in the Europa League in early July, but things may not work out to that plan.
While Klopp appears happy to let the 20-year-old head across the border, he is likely to make the Gers wait as long as possible before completing a move.
The German boss has Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mo Salah all on duty at the World Cup, and he is expected to wait until that competition is over to ensure all three return to Anfield injury free before allowing Solanke to head north.
