Liverpool Set To Lose Out On Top Transfer Target To Real Madrid
Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp is apparently on the search for a new Number 1
Liverpool look set to miss out in their desperate bid to find a
reliable stop-stopper, with long-term target Alisson Becker having
reportedly agreed terms to be Real Madrid’s new goalkeeper for the start
of the 18/19 season.
The Brazilian Number 1, who pushes out Manchester City’s Ederson Morales out of an international starting berth, is set to sign a €70million deal with Los Blancos, which would make him the most expensive goalkeeper in the history of the game.
Alisson’s excellent domestic performances between the sticks for Roma in Serie A were elevated by the Giallorossi’s remarkable run to the Champions League semi-finals, which has allowed some of Europe’s elite to come calling.
Real Madrid securing of Alisson, with the €70million a compromise between both Madrid and Liverpool’s initial bids of €60million and Roma’s valuation of €80million, would mark new manager and current Spain exile Julen Lopetegui’s first signing.
Manchester United’s staunch stance on their refusal to sell arguably the world’s best, David De Gea,- one of the only times a club has refused the 13-time Champions League winners- has led to Real Madrid looking elsewhere, and Alisson seems to fit the bill.
The Roma keeper is currently on international duty in Russia for Brazil’s quest for their sixth World Cup, with Madrid wanting to complete the deal before the culmination of this summer’s tournament.
Now, Liverpool have to look elsewhere, with Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius consistently proving their unreliability; the latter’s brace of howlers in the Champions League Final the final straw for the majority of Liverpool fans.
Speculative links to Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak and recently relegated Stoke’s Jack Butland remain on the cards for Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp.

Liverpool transfer news: Salah ‘will only join Real Madrid if Klopp goes with him’
According to Don Balon, who are renowned for making outlandish transfer claims, the Egypt international will only green light the move if Klopp is appointed as Zinedine Zidane’s replacement.
Zidane announced his departure from the Bernabeu just five days after masterminding their third consecutive Champions League final win.
Florentino Perez is reportedly eager to sound Klopp out about the managerial vacancy.
However, Don Balon claim Real Madrid’s hopes of landing Salah and Klopp are virtually zero.
Report: Liverpool switch focus to Ousmane Dembele after failed Nabil Fekir swoop
According to a report from the Express, Liverpool will intensify their efforts to bring Barcelona ace Ousmane Dembele to Anfield this summer, after their failed move for Lyon ace Nabil Fekir.
The France international joined the Spanish giants from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2017, for a fee that could eventually rise to £135 million, according to the Guardian, but he failed to live up to expectations during his debut season in Spain.
The 21-year-old scored just four goals for Barca last season, and his future at the Camp Nou seems to be uncertain to say the least, especially considering the La Liga side's reported pursuit of Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann.
The Express claims that Jürgen Klopp will now switch his attention to Dembele, after Liverpool's move for Nabil Fekir collapsed over the weekend.

Good signing for Liverpool?
Despite Dembele's struggles in La Liga last term, he still remains one of the continent's most exciting young prospects, and he would be a quite simply sensational addition to the Reds' setup.Liverpool are leading the race for Stoke City attacker Xherdan Shaqiri, sources close to the player have told ESPN FC.
Shaqiri, 26, is set to leave Stoke this summer following their
relegation from the Premier League and a number of clubs have been
weighing up moves for the Switzerland winger.
Sources have told ESPN FC that Shaqiri's brother and agent met with Liverpool officials last Friday to discuss a possible move to Anfield and that talks are also ongoing with several other clubs -- though the player himself is currently away in Russia preparing for the World Cup.
Shaqiri is reported to have a release clause of £13.5 million in his contract and that makes him an attractive proposition at that price, with sources telling ESPN FC that Liverpool made their interest clear last week.
The former Bayern Munich and Inter Milan midfielder scored eight goals and provided seven assists for Stoke last season and he has previously indicated he would prefer to stay in England if he does end up leaving Stoke.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is reportedly keen to boost his options in attack next season, as he wants to ease the burden on the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.

Egypt team flies to Belgium for final World Cup test game; Salah to join teammates in Cairo on 9 June
Egypt national team left Italy midday on Tuesday to head to Belgium ahead of their upcoming final friendly match in preparations for the anticipated World Cup, while the team's injured star Mohamed Salah is due to join his teammates in Cairo in the coming days ahead of travelling to Russia on 10 June.
The Pharaohs will be hosted by Belgium in Brussels in their final warm-up match on Wednesday before flying to Russia to make their first World Cup appearance since 1990, when they were eliminated at the group stage.
The seven-time African champions will kick off their World Cup campaign on 16 June against Uruguay, then face hosts Russia on 19 June.
Their final Group A match will be against Saudi Arabia on 25 June.
On Monday, Argentinean coach Hector Cuper announced Egypt's final 23-man squad for the World's most prestigious tournament.
The team is scheduled to hold one training session in Brussels on Tuesday night.
Liverpool star Salah missed Egypt's current camp after picking up a shoulder injury in Liverpool's 3-1 defeat by Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final on 26 May.
Last week, the Egyptian Football Association said the player, who is currently undergoing rehabilitation in Spain, needs three weeks to return to action.
"Salah will return to Cairo in the coming few days and he is supposed to join the team's camp on 9 June, one day before flying to Russia," Egypt team manager Ihab Leheta told ONSport TV channel on Monday night.
"He will continue his rehabilitation program under the supervision of the national team medical staff," he added.
Egypt secured a late 1-1 draw against Kuwait last month before holding Colombia to a 0-0 stalemate in the Italian city of Bergamo on Friday.
In March, Egypt lost to Portugal and Greece in two friendly matches held during their first training camp in Switzerland.
Loris Karius: Liverpool keeper referred for concussion tests by club
Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius
was referred to medical experts in Boston after contacting the club
while on holiday in the United States.
The 24-year-old German
visited Massachusetts General Hospital and was diagnosed with concussion
five days after the Champions League final.Karius made errors for the first and third goals his side conceded in the 3-1 defeat by Real Madrid on 26 May.
Dr Ross Zafonte said it was "possible" the injury "would affect performance".
Shortly before his mistake for Real's opening goal, Karius collided Spanish defender Sergio Ramos - but in a statement released with the player's permission, doctors did not say if that incident was the cause of the concussion.
Karius appeared to show no signs of injury and did not request any treatment during the game in Kiev, Ukraine.
The collision occurred early in the second half. Minutes later, the German threw the ball into the path of Real striker Karim Benzema, who stuck out his leg and scored.
Real's third goal came when Karius let a long-range shot by forward Gareth Bale slip through his hands.
Dr Zafonte, who is a leading expert in head injuries in the NFL, said Karius' assessment involved reviewing "game film", a "physical examination" and "objective metrics".
He added it was "likely" that "visual spatial dysfunction" - which hampers a person's ability to process visual information about where objects are in space - would have occurred immediately after the event that caused the concussion.
Liverpool should break transfer record to sign Jan Oblak this summer
Liverpool are reportedly interested in securing the signing of Atletico Madrid's superstar keeper Jan Oblak this summer, according to Don Balon, with Lloris Karius's Champions League blunder still fresh in the memory.
But to secure an established starter from a European giant is no easy task, as Liverpool have discovered, with Atletico putting a reported £78 million price-tag on the Slovenian international - £10 million less than his buy-out clause.
However, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp clearly means business this summer, having quickly secured high-profile moves for both Naby Keita and Fabinho, and Oblak looks to be next in the German's plans.
Liverpool bit the bullet last summer in their pursuit of Virgil van Dijk and broke their transfer record at £75 million. However, they instantly reaped the rewards of having a quality addition drafted straight into the starting XI.
And they should really consider breaking the record again this summer, as the goalkeeping position for Liverpool has been a notable weakness for years, with neither Karius nor Simon Mignolet looking up to the required standard.
At 25, Oblak is one of the best in the world. His agility, positional awareness and ability to organise the defence would instantly bolster Liverpool's chances of challenging for the Premier League crown next term.
